The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 06/2026 for recruitment to various Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) – Graduate posts. A total of 3,548 vacancies are notified across all RRBs.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification from a recognised University/Board/Institute by the last date of online application. Candidates awaiting the final result of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply. Post-wise qualification details are given in Annexure A of the notification. 

Age Limit

The age will be calculated as on 01 January 2027.

Minimum Age: 18 years

Maximum Age: 33 years for the 18–33 age group

SC/ST: 5 years relaxation

OBC-NCL: 3 years relaxation

PwBD and Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as per RRB rules. 

Application Fee

₹500 – General/other eligible candidates

₹400 will be refunded after appearing in 1st Stage CBT, after applicable bank charges.

₹250 – SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minority and EBC candidates

Refund applicable after appearing in 1st Stage CBT, after applicable bank charges.

2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

Medical Examination

For CEN 06/2026, the Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) has been dispensed with for Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist. However, candidates are expected to have basic computer and typing proficiency. 

1st Stage CBT

Duration: 90 minutes

Total Questions: 100

General Awareness: 40

Mathematics: 30

General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30

Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for every wrong answer

2nd Stage CBT

Duration: 90 minutes

Total Questions: 120

General Awareness: 50

Mathematics: 35

General Intelligence & Reasoning: 35

Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for every wrong answer
