Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification from a recognized university/institution as applicable to the post.
For several posts, a Bachelor's Degree is required. For DSP (Communications), candidates must possess B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Radio Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. Group_I_07_2026.pdf
Age Limit
The age is calculated as on 01 July 2026.
General Group-I posts: 18 to 44 years
DSP (Civil): 21 to 30 years
DSP (Communications): 18 to 30 years
Age relaxation is applicable as per the notification and relevant government rules. SC/ST/BC/EWS candidates are eligible for 5 years relaxation, while Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are eligible for 10 years, subject to the applicable conditions. Group_I_07_2026.pdf

The selection process consists of:
Screening Test – Objective Type
Main Written Examination – Descriptive Type
Interview / Personality Test
The Screening Test consists of two papers and is used to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. Candidates admitted to the Main Written Examination will be up to 50 times the number of vacancies, irrespective of community. Group_I_07_2026.pdf

Negative Marking
There is a 1/3rd negative marking for each wrong answer in the Screening Test. Group_I_07_2026.pdf

Examination Centres

Application Fee
The notification specifies the applicable application/examination fee and exemptions for eligible categories. SC, ST, BC, PBD and Ex-Servicemen, eligible AP White Card families, and eligible unemployed youth are mentioned for exemption from the examination fee, subject to the conditions in the notification. Visit the official APPSC website.
Complete One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) if you are applying for the first time.
Login using your OTPR ID and password.
Select Notification No. 07/2026 – Group-I Services.
Enter qualification, local/non-local status, post preferences and examination-centre preferences.
Check all details carefully.
Click Save & Submit.
Complete the online fee payment, where applicable.
Download and save the submitted application for future reference.
